Men and Woman's Bodybuilding - Pre-Judging Poses: Competitors will be judged on posing as well as physical appearance, in both, individual and comparison rounds. Both rounds will consist of quarter turns and mandatory poses. Depending on the division a competitor enters into, there are several different posing categories. Below is a breakdown of each division with details regarding proper competition attire, presentation and mandatory posing. Competition Attire: • Men – bodybuilding posing suit, plain in color, standard “V” shape covering at least 2/3 of your buttocks • Women – two piece bodybuilding suit, plain in color for prejudging. Bottoms must be “V” shaped and cover at least 2/3 of your buttocks. Woman's suits for finals may include a printed design or added sparkle, rhinestones, sequins, etc. • All suits will be checked at weigh-in. Weight Classes: Men's Bodybuilding Novice- Light- less 165 Middle – 165.25 up to 184 Heavy – over 184 Men's Bodybuilding Open - Bantam – less than 150 Light Weight – 150.25 up to 165 Middle Weight – 165.25 up to 180 Light-Heavy Weight – 180.25 up to 199 Heavy- 199.25 up to 224 Super Heavy – over 224 ***Note Woman's Bodybuilding Open and Novice classes will be decided at each individual event Mandatory Poses: • Front Lat Spread • Front Double Bicep • Side Chest • Rear Lat Spread • Rear Double Bicep • Side Tricep • Abdominal and Thigh • Most Muscular Individual Round: During pre-judging each competitor will be called out to center stage where they will stand feet flat, heels touching, and arms to their side and head facing front. The head judge will ask the competitor to perform their quarter turns first. The quarter turns consist of facing front, quarter turn facing right, facing backstage and quarter turn facing left. The head judge will then ask the competitor to complete a series of mandatory poses. Athletes will be judged on muscularity, conditioning and symmetry, a display of overall shape and muscle balance, vascularity, separation and striation. All poses must be performed properly and in a timely manner to avoid any penalties. Comparison Round: Once all competitors have completed their individual rounds, the head judge will call random competitor numbers of their choice to line up on center stage where quarter turn comparisons as well as mandatory posing comparisons will be performed. Upon completion of comparison round the head judge could call on competitors to return to stage in order to ensure proper judging and placement. Evening Presentation Format: Competitors will be called to stage one by one, where they will stop at center stage, strike a pose and proceed to line up on stage right/left based on the direction of the expediter until each competitor has presented him/herself. The expediter will then instruct all competitors to leave the stage. Depending on the number of competitors in a class and the decision of the officials, either all competitors or the top 5 in the class will perform a 90 second routine to their chosen music. Please note rule for routines, only one routine will be performed if doing Crossover divisions. Posing Music: Posing music must be on a CD and must be the only music on that CD. Posing music may not contain any vulgar lyrics. Music will vulgar or racial lyrics and tone will be prohibited. Note: The Moon Pose is prohibited at any GBO Sanctioned Event. Props are allowed in the final evening routine however you must have them approved at the weigh in meetings by the Head Judge or the State Director. ***Note Novice – An athlete that has never entered into a Global Bodybuilding Organization Event. Once a competitor wins his/her novice class, they are not allowed to do another novice class. If the competitor does not win, they may choose to compete again in Novice. Pro Cards are not awarded to this division. If a competitor is caught reentering to Novice after winning his/her class they will be disqualified. -

Men’s Beach Body (open, novice, masters, teen) - Competition Attire: · Required to wear board shorts that are 6” to 11” inseams · No visible logos will be permitted · Board shorts must be worn to meeting the night before the show Height Classes: Open Short – Under 5'6 Medium- 5'6” 1/4 up to 5'9” Med/Tall- 5'9” 1/4 up to 6' Tall – Over 6' (Open Only) Novice Short – Under 5’6” Medium – 5’61/4” up to 5’9” Tall – Over 5’9” Posing: • Face Front - Eyes facing forward - Hips must be facing the judges - Arms can remain at sides or you can place hand on one or both hips - Feet slightly apart • Rear Pose -Head held high -Arms can either be at the sides or with one hand on the hip or both hips -Feet slightly apart Individual Round: Competitors will execute a model walk to center stage where they will stop in a front pose. They will then transition with a full turn to the back pose, then turn to the front again. The competitor then proceeds to line up on stage right/left based on the direction of the expediter, while other competitors complete their presentations. Judges will be looking for body shape, symmetry, muscle shape/definition, conditioning, overall appearance and stage presence. Points will be deducted for too much muscle. Comparison Round: Once all competitors in a class have completed their individual round, the head judge will call random competitor numbers of their choice to line up center stage where front and back pose comparisons will be performed. Judges will compare competitors against others in the same class to help determine placement. Fitted shirt that shows midriff, blue jeans and your shoe of choice. Please keep in mind that your outfit should reinforce the positive attributes of your figure. Style, fit and color are things to keep in mind. Shoe choice is also very important. Your shoe should compliment your outfit, not distract. Clear Stilettos are N?OT?allowed. Heels should be at least 2 inches and no more than 6 inches. Remember you will be judged on your poise so choose shoes that you can walk in properly and with ease. Personality/Formal Wear (Females):?N?O COSTUMES! P?ersonality/Formal Wear is a category that allows the individuals style and “swag” to be exemplified. Outfits should be in good taste and the style/color should compliment the physique and silhouette. Points will be deducted for lack of proper undergarments in formal wear. Panty hose are N?OT?required but proper undergarments are. Keep in mind that undergarments, such as shape wear, help clothing fit better and help with stage presence. When choosing an Personality/Formal Wear keep in mind what colors and style compliments your shape and skin tone. This will affect judging. Clothing that is not hemmed properly, showing excessive cleavage are not acceptable. * Hair and makeup should be in good taste and not distracting. Know what colors look best with your skin tone and outfits. Points will be deducted for distracting makeup. Hairpieces are allowed but keep in good taste; points will be deducted for distracting hairpieces. False eyelashes are acceptable. Casual Wear (Male):?NO Shirt, blue jeans and shoes of choice. This category is designed to show off your physique. Please keep in mind that this category is to reinforce the positive attributes of your physique. Style, fit and color are things to keep in mind. Figure (open, novice, masters, teen) - Competition Attire: · Two-piece figure suit. Thongs will not be permitted · Competition suits may be enhanced with rhinestones, sparkle, sequins etc · High heeled shoes are required ·Jewelry may be worn within good taste provided that it does not interfere with the presentation of the competitor’s physique. Height Classes: Under 5’2” 5’21/4” up to 5’5” 5’51/4” up to 5’7” Over 5’7” Posing – Quarter Turns: • Face Front -Facing forward, head up and smiling -Shoulders even, chest out, do not hunch over -Abdominal muscles should remain tight -Arms to your sides being sure not to touch the sides -Lats flared -Feet together, toes facing the judges -Do not lock knees • Quarter Turn Facing Right -Head and hips should be facing side stage -Position feet together or with one slightly in front of the other -With arms at sides and hands hanging freely, twist torso slightly allowing upper body to face the judges • Rear Pose -Feet together -Arms at your sides just as in front pose -Shoulders should be lifted with lats flared wide -Glutes should be flexed -Competitors with long hair should brush their hair to one side to ensure their back is visible to the judges • Quarter Turn Facing Left -Head and hips should be facing side stage -Position feet together or with one slightly in front of the other -With arms at sides and hands hanging freely, twist torso slightly allowing upper body to face the judges Individual Round: Competitors will execute a model walk to center stage. Beginning facing the front, the competitor will perform quarter turns, face the judges as directed and proceed to line up on stage right/left based on the direction of the expediter, while other competitors complete their presentations. Competitors will stand in a side-relaxed pose while lined up at stage right. Competitors will be judged on symmetry, muscle development and tone, and overall stage presence and posing. Judges will be looking for a small degree of muscularity with no extreme striations visible. Hair, make-up, suit, jewelry and tan should all complement the competitors figure overall. Comparison Round: Once all competitors in a class have completed their individual round, the head judge will call random competitor numbers of their choice to line up center stage where quarter turn comparisons will be performed. Judges will compare competitors against others in the same class to help determine placement.
